Amber's Cruise with her Dad and sister, Debbie. Day 1: White Cliffs of Dover and the Kiel Canal. May 2006 : Here are all my fabulous pictures of my Baltic Sea Capitals Cruise in May of 2006! My Dad and I flew out and planned on meeting Debbie but her flight was delayed. Once in England Dad went ahead and I grabbed Debbie and we drove like crazy for the cruise ship. We made it just as the plank was going up! Seriously... Whew!! I had a film camera at the time so I had to borrow a lot of pictures from Debbie. Her's have a date in the right hand corner- just ignore it because the date is wrong most of the time. Hope you enjoy! (P.S. It might be easiest to view if you put it on slideshow)

Cruise Day 2: Berlin (Warnemunde), Germany : This was our first stop of the trip and it was cold and very wet. I loved it though! We started out in Warnemunde and took the train into Berlin where the weather became rainy but the sights were still great. It was a such a great experience touring the Berlin Wall, Check Point Charlie and the car mall with my Dad and sister.

Day 3: At sea; Dinner and dancing : After spending the day exploring, eating Ice cream in the spa and vegging, Dad took Debbie and I to the French restaurant for a little escargo and then some dancing. At the end of everyday our room stewarts left us an animal towel for our amusement. When they found out how excited we were about them they kept adding our own stuff to to presentation. They were super cool guys besides being awesome towel folder-upers. haha

Day 4: Tallinn, Estonia : Tallin was a very cool place to visit... It had an Oregon back woodsy feel when you went out of town but intown you definately got the castle vibe. The three of us found a neat little restaurant in the back corner of the "fort" (I have no idea what else to call it) and discovered a new sport that is played all around Estonia. Sword fighting! I guess they even have teams and leagues?!?! Whodda thunk.
When the day was over I had the top deck all to myself because of the freezing fog but it made for some cool pictures. And yes I was still wearing that green dress... not exactly outside attire.

Day 8: Stockholm, Sweden; Archipelagos Islands : Here is where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies take place... I can see why! It was gorgeous. We went to where they have the dinner (they pack that place out) and then got a chance to look at the room where the daning is held. I was impressed with the mosaics because they were made with gold leaf pressed between glass. Break me off a chunk of that!
Another highlight of the day was seeing the warship vasa which had a very funny story attached to it. The day that it was launched to sea it sunk within an hour because it was too narrow and tall. Plus the king wanted more cannons which meant more cannon holes, resulting in a quick fill up of Ocean water. My guess is that is why the nobel peace prize is really heald there. Make peace not war eh?
